My only tip: Don’t believe anyone’s tips.
Seriously – casino games are there for a reason. They make money for the casino! You might win sometimes, but in the long run the casino WILL take your money. There is no way around it, and there are NO SYSTEMS that will beat them.

For online poker,
Always have the bank roll to back your buy-in.
If you are into playing Tourneys, you should not play in tourneys with more than 2-3% of your bankroll. (Example:100dollars in to account, play 2-3$ buy in tourneys). You keep winning till you have enough bankrolls to play more expensive buy-in tournys.
If you are into playing cash games, do not buy into games with more than 50% of your bank roll. However, you should always have at least 50 times the big blind (preferably 100 times).
